I went to Foothill Junior College for 2 years and worked at a boring job at the same time and decided I had to do something with meaning. I decided to do some world traveling, got my passport, sold my car and bought a boat ticket to Australia. I left on a British passanger ship and the next day we were in a ship collision at sea with an American aircraft carrier outside of Longbeach California. I started out kind of shaky, but it only got better when I met a girl from New Zealand going home after a visit in the US. I got my New Zealand Visa in Hawall and got off the ship with her in New Zealand and proceeded to hitch hike around both islands.
My next step 6 months later was to fly to Sydney Australia where I worked & traveled around that country for the next year having one of the best times of my life (Australian girls love American men). I worked in a electronics company in Sydney, a snow skiing resort in the Snowy Mountains, the Australian Govenment in the capital of Canberra and a lot of open road miles hitch hiking.
I have been gone now for 1 1/2 years and I only had a 2 year deferrment from the US Military, so even though I did not want to leave, I decided to catch a Italian ship from Sydney through the middle east to Italy. While going north, I stoped at Malaysia, the Port Of Aden and Egypt and ending up in Naples Italy. I spent the next 6 months traveling around Europe and the British Isle's and catching a German freighter from Holland to the east coast of the US.
I came home and joined the US Air Force and after training, they sent me to Ramstien Germany for about 1 1/2 years, then to Turkey for another year or so. I came home and married my child-hood sweetheart and moved to northern California where we bought our own retail store in a town called Willits. We had a good business for 11 years, but decided to move to Sacramento California, after awhile we got a divorce and I was single for 3 years, but met and married my present wife Carolena. My wife and I have been retired sense about 2003 except for our internet stores and we love our life.
