I THINK IT WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL that I first heard the word "intestinal fortitude' Just recently I realized That the "fort" in Fortitude mean strength. As in science is my forte(which by the way should be pronounced with one syllable). We pronounce it the french way. Many err and pronounce it with two syllabes(accent on 2nd syllable. That`s the Italian way and has to do with music(playing strongly or loud)
